Hut
On Tuesday BreAnna taught TaKara how to build a hut and just a few minutes ago she discovered that she can make one on her own. I walk into my bedroom and the little toughy had pulled off my bedspread until it was touching the floor and was sitting under it with her back to the bed with her doll just laughing. It was adorable!!! I sat under it for a minute with her but then she pushed me out and wanted to be alone. Oh well maybe next time I can join in longer :)

Clean up.
TaKara loves to help with all of the chores: laundry, dishes, dusting, etc. Anything but vacuuming...it still scares her LOL Dale was sweeping the kitchen tonight and TaKara grabbed the dustpan and ran over and held it in front of the pile of dirt and food while he swept it in and then Dale helped her carry it to the garbage and dump it.
I am so glad that Dale is willing to help around the house. And TaKara is going to be such a big helper now and when she gets older.

Christmas Dress
It worked out good that we were unable to go to St. George because Tommie talked at church today and we would have not been able to spend much time with my fam because we would have been rushing back for his talk. Tommie did really well!!! I didn't realize he could give a talk for the whole meeting. I was very proud of him...he did a great job! For dinner we had one of Margo's home grown turkeys. It weighed 30+ plus pounds. It was delicious.
TaKara got to wear her new Christmas dress for the first time today also. She looked adorable like always :)
I love how she is holding her foot up in the bottom picture. Like she is striking a pose just like her mother as Dale would say HAHAHA

Sleep
So today after lunch TaKara was really tired because she didn't take a very long nap this morning so Dale went and laid her down. She cried and cried so he went and got her out and played her favorite game (Connect Four) with her for a minute before he had to go back to work. When he left she cried and cried and hugged the front door. Then she took my finger and took me into her room and wanted her blanket. The next thing I know she is laying by the front door like this
asleep. I tried to put her in her crib but she woke back up and screamed at me so I laid her back down and she instantly fell back asleep. Silly kids. The front door was having a breeze coming through it so I put a blanket under head to block the cold air. It was so adorable I had to share and I knew if I waited I never would post this. Thanks for listening and have a Very Merry Christmas!
I am editing this post and writing in a differnet color, because when TaKara woke up she sat by the door for about 30 or 40 minutes thinking any second Dad would be coming back home. When I tried to pick her up she wouldn't let me just wanted to stay right there. I didn't want to forget this so I am adding it so all can enjoy!

Sugar Cookies
Last night we made sugar cookies. TaKara had a blast. And we had a good time enjoying her fun. I know this is going to turn into a tradition even if it is a lot of work and makes a big mess :)
This is her using a cookie cutter. The cute thing is she would grunt and get her whole body into it.
This is TaKara rolling out the already cut cookies. I love the face.

Christmas Tree
Well we got our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving at U.M. We put it in the house that night but then we had a family reunion the next day so we didn't decorate it until Monday. Below are before and after pictures.
TaKara loved sitting under the tree before any lights were even on it.
This is the front.

And this is the back. Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest :)
We have a tradition that we get an ornament that represents something that we did that year. TaKara got a a little pig because she can't/won't take her morning nap until we have gone and done chores. Dale got a truck because we paid his truck off. I haven't got mine yet but I know it will be cute when I do :) So TaKara has not been allowed to touch the tree so none of them will get broken. She has actually been doing really well. She has only broke one...it is a raddle I got last year to remember TaKara's birth. Don't worry though I glued it back together :)
Dale wanted me to ask everyone...is your tree a girl or a boy?

TaKara's new favorite thing to do is dance along with the radio. It is adorable :) She has been doing it for about a week now and I finally was able to get a video of it.

Walking
TaKara started walking on Friday, October 10th. Well she could walk before that but she would only do it if she thought noboday was watching LOL but now she does it all the time and has to make sure that we are watching and she stops and claps for herself. :) Well this is a short video of her having a blast walking for us. Enjoy!

Taylor Look-alike Meter
MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celeb - Collage - Morph
The picture of TaKara was taken the first part of August. I did it again with a picture when she was 3 1/2 months old and it said she was 16% more like her mom. So she is either looking more like Dale as time goes on or getting her own look ;)

Trickster
Okay TaKara is such a trickster/stinker depending on how you look at it...well we have been trying to get her to walk for a few months now since she turned one on the 4th and still can't walk. Well that is what we thought at least. We know she can walk across the furniture but we thought that was the end of it because whenever we try to get her to walk between Dale and I all she will do is laugh hysterically and sit down. Over the weekend my dad said that she walked from the fireplace to the couch but we really didn't believe him sorry dad LOL Well today she stood up in the middle of the kitchen where there is not anything remotely close for her to hold onto and took a couple of steps, but hurry and sat down when she noticed I was watching. Again just a few minutes ago she did the same exact thing but in the middle of the family room (which is even more spacious) but this time walked to the recliner which is about 5 feet away. So she can definitely walk but just prefers to crawl. Oh well she will decide one of these days and she will just run everywhere!

TaKara's 1st B-day
TaKara turned 1 on Monday the 4th and here are a bunch of pictures from her big day. (Sorry there are so many but they're all my favorite ;))
I am not the best picture taker (like my mom) so some of the pictures are blurry and this one I forgot to turn the flash on LOL. This is her blowing out her one pink candle.
This is her texas cake. Did you see no caramel icing yet? Good thing because she would have branded it with her hand prints like you would your driveway. HEHEHE Notice: She is also wearing her new pink pjs with Boots from Dora the Explorer on them.
This is how TaKara opens presents. She has to climb on them first like everything else in our house to see if she can make it to the top.
TaKara's highlight of the night is her new toy from Grandma and Grandpa Taylor. She was sitting on it before Dale could even finish putting it together.
You can either walk behind it or ride it. She is going to be walking before we know it!
She can only go backwards for now but she will catch on to the forward motion soon enough. She also loves to hide toys in the trunk/hood.
Below is her new reclineable Eddie Bauer forward facing car seat. Observe the adorable dress she is wearing. That is from Grandma and Grandpa Coates...she will be wearing it to her Uncle Devan's wedding on the 23rd of August.
No kid really likes a car seat but they all like to make a fort out of the giant box. Dale even put some toys in there to keep her company. She will have fun in there for at 30 minutes and pop her head out every once and awhile to play peek-a-boo and smile ;)
She also got a hot pink shirt from her cousins (BreAnna, Adam, and Brigette). It says "I'm guaranteed to make you smile." :) It makes her look so grown up because it isn't a onesie.

Rocking Horse!
This is a cute, short (only 15 sec) video of TaKara riding her pink rocking horse that we recorded with our digital camera on June 13th. It looks like she is kickin' the pony LOL I hope you enjoy!
