Little Cupid

We were sitting in our giant recliner tonight and TaKara leans over to Dale and taps his cheek and says mommy. So I give him a kiss. Then she twirls around and taps on my cheek so Dale gives me a kiss. We did this for over 5 minutes. She is our Little Cupid.

Potty

I have decided to start potty training TaKara today so if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!!

Plug Noses

Today TaKara realized that your nose is for smelling so when I went to change her stinky diaper she instantly plugged her nose and said "oh yuk". Then she had to plug mine. Have you ever tried to change a baby's diaper while they are holding you nose? It is quite the challenge! At least she holds still. She also likes to hold anyone's nose that is close enough. Then a couple of days later we were at the in-laws and Grandma was changing Brigette's diaper and TaKara instantly ran over there and plugged both of their noses. hahaha TaKara brings so much joy into our lives we don't know what we would do without her!

On the Road

We opened Easter basket's this morning so everyone wouldn't have to bring them to grandma's. TaKara got candy, pringles, and a couple of puzzles. Then we headed to Toquerville to start the journey to Texas. It would take 17 hours none stop. We planned on leaving at 8 but didn't get out of there until 10:30 so that set up back a bit. We stopped quite a few times. TaKara always instantly wanted to run toward the moving cars so Dale taught her how to walk curbs. She is pretty good at it considering how many she walked on...tons. We made it to Albuquerque, NM Sunday night at 11:30 or so.There really isn't much to see in Texas other than about 10 or so miles worth of double rowed windmills. I don't think you can seem them but that is what is out the window in these 2 pictures.

Easter/Texas

Courtney and Kellee are moving to Cleburne, TX tomorrow so the whole family got together for one last time for awhile since they won't be back until Thanksgiving and maybe some of use will be at the in-laws. We did the usual Easter traditions. The Easter Bunny hid eggs for all 15 grandkids. So once everyone got there we had a massive egg hunt. It was even in the neighbor's yard. Then we ate breakfast, went to the visitor's center and watched a movie then went to the sand dunes where we rode four-wheelers and rolled eggs. I am so glad everyone was able to make it!

TaKara did very well we were pleasantly surprised! She even did better on the way home than mom did LOL

You know how Dallas/Fort Worth metropolis is suppose to have as many people living there as all of Utah? Well their roads are set up a lot better and there are so many trees that you can't tell that there are that many people. More like only St. George...okay maybe a few more than that, but we got there at Rush Hour and we went the speed limit the whole way except for 2 miles when we dropped down 15 mphs. Oh by the way...don't listen to GPS units...they are stupid. It wanted us to exit and enter the freeway at every exit in downtown Fort Worth. There really isn't much to see in New Mexico other than about 10 or so miles worth of double rowed windmills. Texas made me kind of claustrophobic because of all the trees you can't see very far. There was a lot to see though rather than what Courtney was telling us...no mountains or anything.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Dad and Dale (The 2 Dales) fixed the hand railing in the home they are renting because it has a railing across the top and a painted pipe through the middle but nothing vertical. Kellee was worried about it because all of the kid's bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Don't worry we had been there for 5 minutes and TaKara was swinging on the pipe at the very top where it is open to below. Of course not one of the big kids. They framed in fiberglass and put it between each of the posts. The stairs were the hardest because nothing was parallel. It turned out really good though and now nobody will get hurt. For these 3 days Mom, Kellee, and I unpacked stuff and started decorating.

Friday Kelleee decided since it was our last day there we should do something fun and not just work so we went into Fort Worth to the Stock Yard. Courtney had looked online to see what time the cattle drive was. It said 4:30. We made it at about 4:35 so we thought we would catch the tail end of it. Nope...it started at 4. Oh well I guess. We walked around the corral though and got to see the longhorns. That was pretty fun. We also got a Marshal Badge. Our one souvenir from Texas. And of course we left our camera in the car. Oh well I guess.

We headed home today. We stopped at the famous Route 66 gas station that is from Cars the movie and grandma/grandpa bought TaKara some crayons and a coloring book to help entertain her. Okay 2 souvenirs. We spent the night in Gallup, NM. The next day we made it to St. George around 3 p.m. We were planning on going the rest of the way home to Loa but decided to give everyone a break from traveling so we spent the night and went home in the morning. I am really glad that we were able to got o Texas and help them move...next time I am definitely flying and not driving!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Well today we helped Courtney and Kellee load all their stuff into a 26' foot trailor I believe that is how long it was. On the way to Washington from Toquerville dad knew for a matter of fact he wouldn't be able to take this load to Texas. For starters if you got over 50 it started bouncing and shaking and every pot hole would almost throw them off the freeway and it was WAY too much weight for his truck. So Courtney is going to rent a U-Haul truck and we will reload everything tomorrow. In the mean time we haven't colored easter eggs yet so Courtney, Brandon and my family all got together to color them. Now that I am the adult coloring eggs just isn't as fun as it used to be. Especially when there is around 8 kids and only 2 adults supervising. Mommy...Potty

We have been sitting TaKara on her potty seat before we give her a bath so she will get used to it and tonight Dale was asking TaKara what all the animals say, what daddy says, and then what does mommy do on the potty. And TaKara without missing a beat made a farting noise with her mouth then laughed. We were about rolling on the floor laughing ourselves.
