Patty Cake

Today we were playing a form of copy cat. We started out dancing then it turned to patty cake. TaKara said, "Patty cake patty cake raise your arms." Then she raised her arms. Without even thinking about it I followed and she tickled my arm pits. It completely caught me off guard. I thought it was hilarious so I had to post this so I wouldn't forget it ;)

New Calling

On August 31st we met with the bishopric and they asked me to be the Young Women's Secretary and they asked Dale to be Slade's babysister ;) Today at church they set everyone apart but me since I wasn't there considering Slade is only 5 days old. The president is Nicole Blackburn and the counselors are Christy Jeffery and Trudy Torgerson. We are going to have a blast with the Young Women's. I am super excited for this calling and challenge!

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? At my mom's house...Dale was working in Texas.
2- Who was with you? Myself
3- How did you find out that you were pregnant? Took a home pregnancy test on Jan 15thish
4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? I was so excited and couldn't wait to tell Dale that night on the phone!
5- Who was the first person you told? Dale
6- Did you plan to get pregnant? YES
7- Did you tell everyone else right away? No we were planning on waiting until we got the ultrasound but my Aunt Debbie kept asking my mom if I was pregnant and my mom finally asked me and I couldn't lie to her. That was on March 7th. She told my dad right after that. The following weekend we played a secret game with Dale's family. We went around the table telling secrets...when it got to us TaKara told everyone there is a baby in my mommy's belly. It took a minute for everyone to believe her because 30 seconds earlier Dale's brother Tom said jokingly they were expecting. It wasn't long after that the whole world knew.
8- Was everybody happy for you? Yeah they were so excited
9- Did you go out and celebrate? Probably once Dale got home
10- Did you want to find out the sex? Yes
11- What was the sex? Boy
12- Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes
13- If yes, who? The Taylor Family (my sister-in-laws)
14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby? Nope
15- How much weight did you gain? 25 lbs.
16- Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Not yet but I plan on it
17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? None that I know of
18- What did you crave the most? Crushed ice
19- Did you crave anything else? Not that I can think of
20- Who or what got on your nerves the most? Driving an hour to the doctor's office every week at the end

22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Nope I had an easy pregnancy
23- Where were you when you went into labor? Home
24- Did your water break? The doctor broke it
25- Who drove you to the hospital? Dale
26- Did you go early or late? 1 day early
27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Dale, a nurse (the same one that was there when TaKara was born), and Doctor Dwight Inouye
28- How long were you in labor for? 5 minutes shy of 20 hours
29- Did you have any drugs for the pain? NO I was okay until the last hour. Good thing I had a lot of support there or I don't know what I would have done.
30- Did you go Natural or have a c-section? Natural
31- What was your first reaction after giving birth? This delivery was completly different than TaKara's but I was happy that he was here and surprised he had red hair
32- How big was the baby(s)? 6 lbs 15 oz. 20 inches.
33- Did your Husband cry? No
34- What did you name the baby(s)? Slade Dale Taylor
35- Does his name have any significant meaning? Dale means valley and Slade means son of a valley.
36- Did you have any visitors in the hospital? Yes: Great Grandma Geneal Coates, Great Aunt Julia Sorenson, Grandma Mary Taylor, Aunt Marcy Winters, Grandma Michele Coates, Grandpa Dale Coates, and the most excited of all...my big sister TaKara Taylor
37- Did the baby(s) have any complications? Nope
38- How old is your baby today? Four days old
39- When is the next one(s) coming? Dale thinks we are done but I think we will have more sometime...Heavenly Father has a huge say in this though
40- If you could, would you do it all over again? Definitely...he was worth every minute

Already Napping with Daddy

TaKara and I went downstairs to play a game this morning...when we came back upstairs this is what we found ;)

I just bearly woke up from a nap and all 3 (Dale, TaKara, & Slade) are napping on the spare bed. Dale has one in each arm...it is so cute!!! Sorry no pictures because I didn't want to wake them up :(
