Chickens

My Grandma Coates is so funny. She is always giving you advice or anything. We were at her house around the middle of June and she had tons of chickens running around her yard and she wanted to get rid of some of them so she sent home a mom and 3 chicks with us. They were so tiny and fast they were extremely hard to catch. When we caught the last one I opened my hands less than the size of a dime to show TaKara and it jumped out. Crazy! They were a week old at the time so we think they were born on June 16th. Now they are about 3 1/2 months old. When we brought them home they were so tiny the chicks could fit through chicken wire. They are way adorable though. I got online to a chicken forum called backyardchickens.com and posted a picture of them to find out what breed they are and discovered that one of the chicks is a rooster. He is very fiesty...when he got bigger he could kick anyone's butt. And they are called Old English Game Bantums/Bannies. They are a small breed of chicken. About half the size or smaller than the normal chicken. Their eggs are even half the size or smaller than a normal egg. They work real good if you need half an egg in a recipe. TaKara loves to feed and chase them. They have been a lot of fun to have.

Animal Books!

TaKara loves animals. She also loves books. So if you combine them together in a touchy feely way she is in heaven. We found a Usborne book that is just that. The animals have fur and play peek a boo with you. And when she is older it has counting also. Today she requested for me to sit her in the recliner with her favorite book to read all by herself instead of on the floor with the recliner as our back rest together. TaKara is getting so big ;(

Rug Rider

When I sweep and mop the kitchen floor...which isn't very often. I roll the rugs up so I can take them outside to shake without dropping dirt and crumbs throughout the whole house. Then I bring them back in while I work so the wind doesn't get them too dirty again. Today TaKara was pretending the rugs was a horse. So she climbed on its back and started kicking. It was so cute I just had to get a blurry picture.

Spoonful...

TaKara is allergic to milk but she is a dairyholic. She loves cheese, cream cheese, yogurt, butter, and sour cream. If we will let her or she can sneak a spoonful of any she will every chance she gets.HO HO HO!!!
She even puts the lid back on...well tries to ;)

Taylor Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celeb - Collage - Morph

The picture of TaKara was taken the first part of August. I did it again with a picture when she was 3 1/2 months old and it said she was 16% more like her mom. So she is either looking more like Dale as time goes on or getting her own look ;)

Long time no See ;)

Well my life is a lot the same everyday so when something exciting or abnormal happens I am almost too shocked to post anything. LOL But on Monday Dale got pooped on by a bird. Sorry no picture available he washed it off before I could turn the camera on :(

Also on Wednesday I took TaKara to the eye doctor. There is a great program out there called InfantSee. You go to InfantSee.org and type in your zip code and they will give you a list of eye doctors that will give your child a basic eye checkup between the age of 6 and 12 months for free. The reason that this program was created because there is a lot of things that an eye doctor can catch that a family doctor cannot. I recommend everyone taking their children to get their eyes checked because my little brother was born with a lazy eye. If it would have been caught at an earlier age it could have been fixed but we didn't learn about it until he was 7 and it was already too late so he has 400/20 vision out of his right eye. So he had to learn how to shoot left handed. Anyways...everything is fine with TaKara and that is a great blessing ;)

Warm enough?

Tonight we went and visited Marcy and Phillip after we did chores. We were on the 4-wheeler and lost track of time and before we knew it it was after dark and way past our bedtime. We didn't want TaKara to freeze so we put on her jacket then my warm hoodie that I had been wearing and I put on the cold one that was in the 4-wheeler bags. Doesn't she look so cozy?Obviously she wasn't very happy about us taking multiple pictures hahaha
