Blanket

I have been pretty busy the last couple of months making a denim quilt for TaKara's twin big girl bed. We took the side off of her crib a few months ago so she can get in and out by herself and she is so much happier when she wakes up. Last week I went to St. George and my wonderful mom helped me tie it. I can't believe we found some variegated yarn that matched it perfectly. We had rubber fingers on our fingers so it was easier to pull the needle/yarn through and TaKara decided she needed some too.

This morning I finished binding it. Also there is a giant matching pillow...it is about 2' x 3'. I am so excited...it turned out better than I expected...since this is the first quilt I have ever made let alone pieced. TaKara is already in love with it ;)

Do I see what I think I see?

Today when I was watering my flowers I noticed 3 green plants have popped through the soil where we planted the Columbines…hopefully they are flowers and not weeds ;)

Flower Garden

TaKara and I went to St. George and spent Monday and Tuesday with my mom while my dad was in Delta irrigating. She loved being outside chasing the birds and helping grandma water her garden. We went shopping, watched some movies, tied TaKara's quilt, and just enjoyed each other's company to kick of Mother's Day week. Then on Wednesday Rayce and Rachelle came and went shopping with us, ate out, dressed mom, and just had fun.
This is what TaKara's hair looked like on Wed. There was a trail of 3 ponytails on each side and she let us flip the back out with a curling iron. She is getting much better at letting us do her hair. Rachelle sent some Iris starts home with me. So when we got home Wednesday night we made a flower garden. Then planted them Thursday morning. The plants you can see are the Irises. Between them will be Orange Poppy Seed flowers and across the whole front will be Columbines. Hopefully, something will grow because I don’t have much of a green thumb. I will keep you posted.
