Singing in the Rain

So last Monday, March 8th, we were watching the musical Singing in the Rain for family home evening and for those of you who have seen it will know what I am talking about for those who haven't sorry. There is a part where they are making their first movie ever with sound. So they are using microphones and the main actress won't talk into the mic so they wire it to her. Well the main sound coming through is her heartbeat. At that same exact moment Dale lays down on my stomach for a few seconds, sits up and gives me the strangest look in the entire world then lays back down. Later that night he told me what that was all about. At the exact same moment that they said, "What is that? Her heartbeat." Dale heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time. We never tried this when we were pregnant with TaKara, but at that moment is when the whole pregnancy became real for Dale.

A couple days later we let TaKara listen. Afterwards we didn't say a word and she lifted up my shirt, kissed my belly, then said "I love you, baby." It was so sweet!

I didn't know you were pregnant!! That is so awesome. Congrats!! I also didn't know you could hear the baby's heartbeat through your stomach without one of those machines the doctors have. We will have to try it when the baby gets further along. Congrats again!
